Total war attila seven kingdoms
One huge example of what your saying from my play through of fate divided is how Yuan Shao and Cao Cao DO NOT have "objectives" to wipe each other out (they sign peace pretty often). While I am still disappointed at the lack of a Three Kingdoms start date I will admit that after playing few older Historical Total War titles (and regardless of romance mode's existence the Three Kingdoms did happen and was a historical event) I came to realise for all its flaws 3K at least gives the player an opportunity to follow some historical chain of events. You can conquer China so fast vs only playing 5 years and ending the campaign I spent 300 hours on most interesting part or the parts CA has made, everything after is just plain boring. But it much better with unique character and event then generic and many battle. Since it a grand strategy doesn't have to be a decade long lol. So it "getting boring" (no true BTW) when you hit the Three Kingdom period would actually be absolutely accurate to the source material. After that it's just a decades-long stalemate where no one manages to make any real progress until Shu and Wu get overwhelmed and the Jin replace Wei. Troy and warhammer are for western fan so the dlc sell much better.Īll the most interesting parts of the RoTK story happen before the titular Three Kingdoms are founded. Also half the story is missing so once you hit three kingdom era it get really boring.ĭlc didn't sell well for this game so that a big no for support. Diplomacy and grandstrategy (you can make anything happen) is great and all but it get boring after awhile.
At some point you might look for the summary of 3k and want to experience it but in this game you can't which kills the replayability.
#Total war attila seven kingdoms series
I hope CA give this game a new chance because it's the only recent Total War that try to push the series forward unlike the other games such Warhammer or Troy and it doesn't deserve such a treatment.Īll the thing you said are great but for me the problems outweighs it. I played 100% historical with all the romance crap disabled. It's the first Total War that tries to innovate since Shogun 2 in the menu, in the management aspect, in the diplomacy, the atmosphere is fantastic, it's gorgeous and it's very optimized. So i give a chance to Three Kingdoms knowing that CA dropped the support like they did for Attila, leaving the titles with plenty of bug and no fixes, but surprisingly i found a gem, it's truly awesome. Then i played for a few years the Warhammer games and i was a bit disappointed with it, battles and variety are incredible but lacks all of the complexity in the diplomacy, managing empire is boring and it's only a matter to play the battles or to go to the next turn. I played every Total War since Shogun 2 back in the day aside from the Saga games, love them all expecially Attila, love the battles, sieges and managing my faction with all the complexity.
